Ancient Egyptian art and culture has lasted an eternity; captivating all those who arrived on Africa’s shores. Its’ magic has been written about for generations since Herodotus and the Greeks, the Romans and Cleopatra. In the modern world it has been through the discovery of the 3,300 year-old treasures of Tutankhamun in 1922 by the English archaeologist Howard Carter – who was financed and supported by the 5th Earl of Carnarvon (Highclere Castle).
